Exterior, deck & outdoor workFence installation
Fence installation in Burnaby and across Metro Vancouver
Cedar fences for homes and multi-unit properties — set out to a line, built bay by bay, with gates and patio enclosures where you need them.
A fence is only as straight as the line it was set out on. We set out the line and space the bays before a single post goes in, so the panels, the gates and the steps on a slope all land where they should.
We build fences for single homes, and along the shared walkways and patios of multi-unit properties, where residents are at home while the work goes on.
What it includes
- Removal of the old fence
- Posts set to a surveyed line
- Cedar boards, framing and kickboards
- Capped top rails and post caps
- Gates
- Stepped runs on sloping ground
- Patio enclosures for multi-unit properties
Good to have ready before we talk
- The rough length of fence
- Photos of the line, including any slope
- Where the gates should go
- Who shares the fence — a neighbour, or the strata
The line first
Panel widths, gate positions and the steps on a slope are decided on the ground before any post goes in. That is what makes a long run read as one fence rather than a row of patches.
On a slope
Where the ground falls away, the fence steps down in level runs. In West Vancouver, the run along the parking lane steps down with the ground, set out bay by bay before it was built.
With people at home
Posts across the whole run first, then rails, then boards — so no section is left standing open overnight beside somebody’s home, and walkways stay in use throughout.
What it typically costs
Priced by the length of the fence. Slopes, gates and taking the old fence away all add to it.
| Scope | Usually includes | Typical rangeper linear foot, installed |
|---|---|---|
| Cedar privacy fence | Six feet high, posts set in concrete, straight runs | $45–$75 |
| Framed or good-neighbour cedar | Framed panels or boards on both faces, so it looks finished from either side | $75–$95 |
A typical range to help you plan — not our price. Your project could come in lower or higher, depending on the work and the materials.
