Exterior, deck & outdoor work
Decks, pergolas, fences, retaining walls, patios and exterior repairs — planned around the weather, and around the garden you want to keep.
Outside work lives with the weather. We plan it so nothing is left opened up for longer than it has to be — rain on an unfinished deck or a half-stripped wall costs more to put right than it did to do.
We also work around what is already there: mature planting, the neighbour’s fence, and the one narrow side yard every load has to come through.
What it includes
- Decks, stairs and railings
- Pergolas and privacy screens
- Cedar fencing and patio enclosures
- Retaining walls, terracing and grading
- Concrete patios, stairs and paver walkways
- Envelope repairs and exterior painting
Good to have ready before we talk
- Photos of the area, including how you reach it from the street
- What you would like to use the space for
- Anything that has to stay — trees, planting, a shed, a fence line
Who it is for
Homeowners, and multi-unit properties, with a yard, a deck or an exterior that needs more than a weekend’s work.
How we approach it
On a sloping lot, the levels are decided before anything is dug. On a deck, the board layout and the details are settled before the old one comes off. Either way, the decisions that cannot be changed later are made first, and the crew builds to a plan instead of working it out on site.
Weather and access
Through a Vancouver winter, the order of work matters as much as the work itself. We stage a job so the structure goes up and gets covered quickly, and we plan how materials get in before the first delivery arrives.
